I've had this impossible standard for myself. Be perfect in the result, the product, the process, the journey. There is no place or stage to allow for anything less. It's exhausting. For me, this piece is about letting the mess not only exist without judgement but also letting the mess be seen. Yes, I can polish up anything to a beautiful shine, and, the messy middle is just as important a thing to be seen. I don't want perfection anymore. I want what's real.
