Every piece I create is through conversation with the thing itself. This piece was not an easy back and forth. She spoke, I listened, I listened and she refused to speak. Re-worked several times, the making of 'when we shine' is symbolic of the whole. Sometimes we feel intuition boldly and sometimes there is only silence when we tune in. So we make small movements, keep listening and course correct when necessary. Growth is not linear. Messy growth is still growth.
