'yes and' is the first piece in this series that clued me in to a style all itself that was wanting to be expressed.
'Yes and' is also an improv concept that means: I agree to your choice and will add more information to support that choice. It's really representative of how this piece came to be. I was traveling to an improv retreat and hadn't touched watercolors in well over a year. It just so happens those are the easiest paints to travel with. (Yes) Since these were the paints I traveled with and my soul needed to paint during some free time where I needed to introvert, I began to explore what it felt like to play with these textures the water created. (And) What emerged was something totally new, unexpected, joyous.
Isn't it the same for life? If I'm open and willing to say yes, to engage with something new, the possibilities are endlessly beautiful.
